About the Education Resource Center

The Education Resource Center was created to support our community of volunteers committed to helping individuals better understand their finances.

To our dedicated volunteers:

This site offers tools and resources you can use to help people understand how to take steps to lead better financial lives. It’s at the heart of what we do as a company. We support communities in becoming more financially resilient by connecting people to the tools, resources and education they need to help them achieve financial goals.

We recognize that many individuals—including youth, young adults, working families, military, the formerly incarcerated and others—face barriers to economic success. We are deeply invested in helping individuals and families take positive steps to make their financial lives better, because when that happens, communities are made stronger and we all benefit.

Your guide to empowering people with financial know-how

Improving financial well-being for individuals and families takes more than education, it takes practice. This site provides you with the lessons and tools to deliver Better Money Habits easily and effectively to clients and members of your communities. The free, accessible tools and information on BetterMoneyHabits.com build financial know-how so that people can get real, practical knowledge about money and make confident personal financial decisions.

Better Money Habits lessons lay out the facts so that people can decide what makes sense for their own situation. Lessons cover topics people want to learn about, using terms and examples they can understand. And they connect this information to people’s goals and situations—so it is easily accessible when and where people need it. These materials can be used as the basis for a lesson or as a helpful supplement to enhance an existing learning experience.

Help delivering Better Money Habits

In addition to tools and resources, Bank of America has more than 2,000 Better Money Habits Volunteer Champions around the country. They are employee volunteers who will help people manage their financial lives by delivering content and tools to individuals and families directly and through our nonprofit partners. We regularly work with nonprofit partners to foster economic mobility, and the Champions in your area can help deliver lessons, hosted on-site at an organization or even in our local community financial centers.

What Better Money Habits achieves

People who use Better Money Habits and the associated tools are building toward more financial stability. Better Money Habits users are showing signs that they are improving their personal finances: growing savings, growing checking balances and reducing debt. These improvements can help reduce money-related stress, give individuals a safety net and achieve short- and long-term life priorities like having an emergency fund or buying a home.

We develop strong partnerships with nonprofit organizations serving critical needs, bringing our collective networks and expertise as part of our commitment to help fuel economic and social progress in communities. Some of our partners delivering Better Money Habits include:
